About
Terraces on the Sound is a private residential community nestled above the Long Island Sound in Rocky Point, New York. Tucked into a quaint town on eastern Long Island, the community boasts a beautiful private beach with access to the calm, clear waters of Long Island’s North Shore.
The setting is an ideal combination of country and seashore – a haven in the ever-growing suburbia surrounding us. The community’s charm and natural beauty takes you away from the hustle and bustle. As a point of reference, the town of Rocky Point is approximately 67 miles (driving distance) from Times Square in Manhattan.
Directions:
Take the Long Island Expressway (I495) to Yaphank (exit 66).
Turn left at the light on the off-ramp and stay on this road for about 8 miles.
As you enter Rocky Point from the south, you’ll pass some schools on the left, and then some shopping plazas on either side. At the intersection of RT 25A there is a Starbucks across the street and a 7-11 on the right.
Go straight at the 25A intersection. The road you’re on will now be Hallock Landing. Stay on this for half a mile.
Turn Left at the second traffic signal onto Lower Rocky Point Road. There is a firehouse at this intersection on the left.
Travel another half mile and on the right, you’ll see signs for the Terraces at the intersection of Longview Avenue.
Turn right on Longview Avenue and welcome to the Terraces on the Sound.
Traveling by Long Island Railroad: Take the Port Jefferson branch to the end of the line (Port Jefferson). Once you’re in Port Jefferson, you are still 8 miles away from the Terraces. Unless you’ve made arrangements to be picked up, you will have to take a taxi or Uber.
